INFORMATION FOR CLIENTS

As a documentary photographer I'm used to work in a lively and real setting where situations can change very quickly. I love to take portraits and reportages as well as a combination of those two directions.

What do clients use your photos for?

Clients use my photos for a wide range of purposes and media, such as advertisements, (corporate) magazines, year reports, brand books and internal communication. To get an idea of the variety of my assignments, click here to read some cases.

What kind of camera do you use?

I use a digital medium format Hasselblad H4D-31 for my portraits and I use a Canon 5D Mark III for reportage and film.

Are you filming too?

I'm not an allround documentary maker, but I'm able to shoot and edit film impressions on location.

What if production is needed?

In that case I work together with professional producers. Together we can produce any kind of photo shoot you need, in any part of the world.

And post production?

The post production is in my hands as long as it is about retouche, but when it comes to image manipulation I work with the professional post-production houses.

What about travelling?

About two months a year I'm abroad for assignments, the rest of the year I live and work in Amsterdam. But with my car in front of the door and Schiphol Airport around the corner, I feel like I have the entire world on my doorstep.

Do you also write?

Even though I am not a writer, on request photos can be accompanied by quotes and/or short interviews for captions. I also record interviews, which can be rewritten/edited by a professional writer.

What about uncommissioned work?

Once a year I create a personal long term project. Examples are Baghdad Today,  A Monday in KabulOutside SyriaThe Island of All TogetherBrieven aan Joep and Nederland O Nederland. All of them were published worldwide. My philosophy explains why I want to create these projects.
